Abdullah bin Hussein

Abdullah II ibn Hussein has served as King of Jordan since 1999, following the death of his father King Hussein. Born in Amman in 1962, he received his education in both Jordan and the West, including military training at Sandhurst in the United Kingdom. Before ascending to the throne, he held the rank of Major General in the Jordanian Armed Forces and was instrumental in the country's military affairs.
